A History of Vision and Mission Planning at North Rocks Community Church (2004-2015)
Mission and Ministry Priorities
In Sept and October, we have had discussions within Church Council as well as with people and groups in the congregations to determine what ministry and mission priorities we felt God was calling our church to focus on over the next 12-18 months.
Mission Planning and Growing Generosity
In 2015 during the months of May and June our church undertook a process of mission planning and discerning what God’s plan and purpose of our church is for the next era of our church life. In May we held two large church-wide meetings to facilitate discussions on the vision of North Rocks, to celebrate what has been achieved in the past and to share our hopes for the future. We engaged in a process of finding some clarity about our identity and values as well as exploring the strengths and concerns of the congregation and how these might give focus to priorities and creative ways of resourcing our ministry and mission. (Reports of all these meetings are available on our "Vision and Mission 2015" page). This time culminated in the third of our large "generosity" campaigns - "Growing Generosity" and the attached documentation
Vision Sunday 2015
A focus on preparation, prayerful discernment, mission planning and exploring how we can best resource that Vision - culminating in our Mission Planning in May 2015.
(We will update this page as soon as any documentation from the 2015 mission planning is made available)

The "Gifts of God" program picked up the four key areas arising from the "Imagining Hope" program (Families with Young Children; Children & Youth; Local Community and Regional and International mission) and explored how we could build on these strengths whilst being open to new and creative ideas - both of what God was calling us as a church to do and how we could resources the mission.
Vision Sunday 2013
Our Vision Sunday service in 2013 focused on following up aspects of the 2011 "Imagining Hope" campaign - especially the resourcing of the different idea and programs.

Our Vision Sunday service in 2012 highlighted the four key areas which arose in our 20122 "Imagining Hope" campaign - families with young children, children and youth, serving our local community and resourcing and supporting those in regional and international mission.
