MINISTRY POSITION ADVERTISEMENT
PASTORAL CARE WORKER
The North Rocks Community Church is seeking to meet its ministry needs with the part-time employment of a Pastoral Care Worker. We have a high level of member participation in worship, mission and ministry; a strong history of ministry to children, youth & families, with a focus looking beyond our own church and a growing awareness of social justice and environmental issues. Our worship style is creative and contemporary and we have a large and growing children/youth ministry covering all ages.
In order to fulfil our mission we are seeking a special person to join our ministry team to:
· Facilitate existing Pastoral care team in developing strategies for Pastoral Care.
· Provide pastoral care to the morning worship community in conjunction with the Minister.
· Help provide Pastoral Care for the Leadership Teams.
The position is 10 hours per week and offers a competitive package.
The Successful applicant must have experience in Pastoral Care and an understanding of a variety of Pastoral Care strategies. Training in Pastoral Care is desirable. The successful applicant must also be prepared to work within the polity and ethos of the Uniting Church in Australia as described in the Basis of Union.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: |

1. |
Facilitate the existing Pastoral Care Team |
|
2. |
Facilitate the development of pastoral care strategies in the congregation with Pastoral Care Team. |
|
3. |
Build relationships through some visiting |
|
4. |
Help provide pastoral care for the leadership teams. |
|
5. |
Read and understand the Basis of Union and have a preparedness to work within the polity and ethos of the Uniting Church in Australia as described in the Basis of Union. |
|
6. |
Abide by the discipline processes as set out in the Constitution and Regulation of the Uniting Church and the Code of Ethics and Ministry Practice adopted by the National Assembly as they relate to ministerial practice. |
