Community Development and Pastoral Worker
The North Rocks Community Church is seeking to meet its ministry needs with the part-time employment of a Community Development and Pastoral Worker. We have a high level of member participation in worship, mission and ministry; a strong history of ministry to children, youth & families, with a focus looking beyond our own church and a growing awareness of social justice and environmental issues. Our worship style is creative and contemporary and we have a large and growing children/youth ministry covering all ages.
In order to fulfil our mission we are seeking a special person to join our ministry team to:
· Provide pastoral care and leadership across the two worshipping communities, including the development of leadership and community connections
· Oversee the Children and Youth Ministry of the church
· Provide pastoral leadership and coordination of the evening worship service
The position is 28 hours per week and offers a competitive package.
The successful applicant must be prepared to work within the polity and ethos of the Uniting Church in Australia as described in the Basis of Union. As this is a "Ministry of Pastor" position, any offer of employment will be conditional upon the successful applicant meeting the core competencies as determined by the MEC as being essential for Pastors.
