POSITION TITLE: |
Community Development and Pastoral Worker. |

LOCATION: |
North Rocks Community Church (Uniting Church) |

POSITION PURPOSE: |
CDPW is responsible for: |
|
1. |
Providing pastoral care and leadership across the two worshipping communities, including the development of leadership and community connections |
|
2 |
Overseeing the Children and Youth Ministry of the church
|
|
3. |
Providing pastoral leadership and coordinate the evening worship service
|
|

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: |
|
1. |
Provide pastoral leadership for the leadership teams including developing and running quarterly leadership training meetings |
|
2. |
Identify and develop new leaders |
|
3. |
Facilitate the development of pastoral care strategies in the congregation in conjunction with existing team. |
|
4. |
Provide leadership for the Evening worship community including preaching |
|
6. |
Teach Scripture in schools during school terms |
|
7. |
Involvement in the coordination of the Carols in the Park yearly event |
|
8. |
Read and understand the Basis of Union and have a preparedness to work within the polity and ethos of the Uniting Church in Australia as described in the Basis of Union.
|
|
9. |
Abide by the discipline processes as set out in the Constitution and Regulation of the Uniting Church and the Code of Ethics and Ministry Practice adopted by the National Assembly as they relate to ministerial practice.
|
|
10. |
Abide by the requirements of the Uniting Church Regulations in relation to the lay specified ministry of Pastor.
|
|
11. |
Read and understand the Basis of Union and have a preparedness to work within the polity and ethos of the Uniting Church in Australia as described in the Basis of Union |
